Vertically integrated owner/operator/developer is growing and looking for a new Property Accountant to join their team. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience and exposure to Class A commercial properties. This position will report to the Controller and be responsible for business plan implementation across the portfolio in addition to:
Day to day/full cycle accounting for a portfolio of Class A commercial office properties
Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP for assigned properties including bank reconciliations, journal entries, reclasses, expense accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of supporting workpapers
Monitor cash and ensure sufficient liquidity for properties
Monitor outstanding receivables and work with property managers to resolve any open balances
Review and approve payables in Yardi/Procure to Payscan
Review rent roll to ensure accuracy
Prepare annual CAM, Tax, and Insurance reconciliations based on tenant leases
Work with property managers to review variance explanations and monthly accruals
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
Dedication to continuously improve accounting processes
Assist with special tasks and projects as requested
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5+ years of relevant experience.
1-2+ years of recent hands-on experience with YARDI is a MUST
Experience in Class A commercial property accounting with solid understanding of recoveries and various lease types
Advanced Excel and analytical skills
Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
